Reading the site
No account or registration is needed to read the stories. We do not use advertising networks, tracking pixels or third-party analytics.
The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes technical data of each request (IP address, browser type, requested page, time) to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. We do not use this data to identify visitors. Cloudflare's own handling of this data is described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
We keep our own page-view counter. It stores only the number of views per page per day. It sets no cookies and records nothing that could identify you.
Reviews and signing in with Google
Under each story you can leave a review. To do that you sign in with your Google account (the "Sign in with Google" button). Google then shares with us: your Google account identifier, your name, your profile picture and your email address, as they appear in your Google account.
What we store: your Google account identifier, your name and profile picture as they were at the moment you posted, the text of your review and the time of posting. For regular readers we do not store your email address. For the site's administrators, the email address is stored to confirm the administrator role.
What is public: your name and profile picture are displayed next to your review to everyone who opens the page — this is how the feature works. If you prefer not to show them, do not post a review. You can change the name and picture that Google shares by editing your Google account; reviews keep the name and picture that were current when they were posted.
Your email address is never displayed and never shared with other readers.
A session cookie named aw_session keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It contains only a signed session identifier. Signing out or deleting the cookie ends the session.
To prevent spam, the site limits how often one account can post.
You can edit or delete any review you posted at any time while signed in. Site administrators may also remove reviews that break the rules described in the Terms of Use.
The sign-in itself is provided by Google and is subject to the Google Privacy Policy. You can withdraw the site's access to your Google account at any time in your Google account permissions.
Embedded YouTube videos
Some pages embed videos from our YouTube channel. The video player is loaded only after you press play. Playback is provided by YouTube (Google), which may set cookies and collect data about your viewing according to the Google Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed mode, which limits tracking before you start a video.
To publish and manage videos on our own channel we use YouTube API Services. These tools act only on our channel and do not access, collect or store any YouTube data of visitors to this site. Use of YouTube API Services is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
How we use data
We use the data described above only to run the site, display reviews, prevent abuse and answer your requests. We do not sell personal data, do not use it for advertising and do not build profiles of readers.
We share data only with the service providers that make the site work — Cloudflare (hosting, storage) and Google (sign-in, video) — and where the law requires it.
Where and how long data is kept
Data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure, which may be located outside your country, including in the United States.
Reviews and the related account data are kept until you delete them or ask us to. A deleted review stops being displayed immediately and is removed from our storage permanently on request. Session cookies expire after 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it or to delete it. Write to the address below and tell us the Google account you used. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another region with data-protection laws, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Children
The site is intended for readers aged 18 and older. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has posted a review, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
